Wait 20 seconds countdown for device warming-up

Blow into the mouthpiece for 6 seconds or till the beeping stops, the testing result will be displayed on the screen.

Very Important Tips on How to Get an Accurate Readings:
  1. The monitor needs to be recalibrated before your first use by running the Qetoe breath monitor, 3-5 times without blowing. This means running down the countdown from 20 to 0, 3 to 5 times by turning it on and off.
  2. Please wait 3-5 minutes before proceeding to the next test because the residuals from the last test may influence the next reading.
  3. Please blow immediately after the monitor has counted down from 20 seconds to zero. Please blow until the beeping sound stops. (Please note: If there is no beeping sound, it means that the Qetoe monitor has not detected any ketones in your breath.)
  4. Please ensure you do not take a deep breath in before blowing. You will just be testing the air you have just inhaled.
  5. The Qetoe breath monitor will start analysing after the beeping noise stops.
  6. Please allow a 3-5 minutes gap before you do your next test.
  7. Please note that everything you consume, including water, influences the acetone content in your breath.
  8. Please wait for 20 minutes after consuming any meal or drink before doing another test. (Please note: If you are still getting a high reading after you have consumed carbs, there is a time lag before your ketones levels drop. The difference in lag time differs from each individual, depending on how long you have been on the keto diet for)
  9. Each test readings will be slightly different. This is because there are so many variables that might affect the readings, e.g. The volume of your breath, inhaled breath that does not contain any ketones, etc.
  10. The Qetoe sensor is a highly sensitive sensor that was designed to detect and measure extremely small traces of ketones. The results would be affected by the surrounding environment, temperature, humidity and the air impurities. The results might be unstable if the device has not been used for a long time.

Interpreting the readings of the Ketone Breath Meter

Once the testing & analyzis phase have been completed successfully, the results will show on the screen. They will give you an information on the ketone levels in your breath and on whether you are in ketosis or not.

Ketosis is the state in which the body is using fat for its main energy source.

Readings (in KET mmol/L):

  • A reading of 0.0 KET mmol/L signifies that the person is not in ketosis

  • Readings of between 0.1 to 0.5 KET mmol/L signify that the person is in a light state of ketosis

  • Readings of between 0.5 to 3.0 KET mmol/L signify that the person is in full state of ketosis, i.e. in the optimal ketone zone

  • Readings of over 3.0 -8.0 KET mmol/L signify that the person is in starvation ketosis

  • Readings of over 8.0 KET mmol/L signify that the person is in ketoacidosis.
