Ingredients
- Chicken
- 1 lb (about 4 pieces) boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1/2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust for heat)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Zest of 1/2 lime
- Teriyaki Sauce
- 2 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 1/2 tbsp coconut sugar (or brown sugar)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 2 tsp freshly grated ginger
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp water
- Creamy Garlic Qetoe Noodles

2 x 200g packets Qetoe Noodles, rinsed and drained
- 5 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1.5 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan
- 1 tsp mirin (optional)
- Pinch sea salt, to taste
- Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
- To finish
- Chopped green onions
- Toasted sesame seeds
- Lime wedges (optional)
Directions
- Teriyaki Chicken 1️⃣ In a bowl, toss chicken with chili powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, olive oil, and lime zest. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- 2️⃣ In a jug, whisk sesame oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, coconut sugar, black pepper, garlic, ginger, and honey. Set aside.
- 3️⃣ Heat a large skillet over medium-high. Sear chicken 2–3 minutes per side. Reduce heat to medium, cook another 3–4 minutes until fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
- 4️⃣ Pour teriyaki sauce into the same pan, bring to a gentle boil, then simmer 2–3 minutes. Mix cornstarch and water, stir into sauce. Cook until thick and glossy.
- 5️⃣ Return chicken, coat thoroughly, then remove from heat.
- Creamy Garlic Qetoe Noodles 1️⃣ In another pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic, sauté 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
- 2️⃣ Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, heavy cream, parmesan, mirin, salt, and pepper. Simmer gently 1–2 minutes until creamy.
- 3️⃣ Toss in Qetoe Noodles, mix well to coat and heat through (about 1–2 minutes).
